Honouring Albert Schram (1929–2018)
This tournament is proudly dedicated to the memory of Albert T. Schram (1929–2018), affectionately known as “Mr. Hockey” in Dunnville. Albert was a lifelong champion of youth sports and a driving force behind the growth of minor hockey in our community.
Albert’s passion for the game was matched only by his dedication to mentoring young players. Over several decades, he served as a coach, organizer, and volunteer, helping to shape the lives of countless athletes both on and off the ice. His leadership and generosity left an indelible mark on Dunnville Minor Hockey.
In recognition of his outstanding service, Albert was honoured with the OMHA Distinguished Service Award in 1981—a testament to his unwavering commitment to the sport and the community.
Since 1998, the Albert Schram Memorial Tournament has brought together teams from across the region to celebrate his legacy. This event not only honours Albert’s contributions but also continues his mission of fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and community spirit among young athletes.
As we gather for this tournament, we remember Albert with deep gratitude. His legacy lives on in every game played, every goal scored, and every young player inspired by his example.
Thank you, Albert. Your spirit continues to guide and inspire us all.
