Mudcat Nation,
Last weekend your beloved Dunnville Mudcats saw the last action of the season closing it out in style.
Our U11 Team #1 travelled 'North' to play in the annual New Hamburg Spring Thaw Optimist Tournament.
After a close 8-5 loss to the slippery Sailors of Port Stanley in Game One, the Mudcats rebounded and ground out the New Hamburg Huskies LL#3 in an 8-2 victory to end the Round Robin sending them to a Finals Game.
Through out the tournament Goalie Baxter (Carter) was sensational and with young Ricker (Drake) with 7 goals in 3 games the young Mudcats were a force. Other notable scorers that weekend were;
Colton Clifford with 6
Brycen Hartwick with 1
Sammy Martin with 3
Ryder McKeen with 7
And the many assists.
In a deceive show of domination your Mudcats would prevail in a 11-6 win over the haggard Huskies #2 Team from New Hamburg to capture the 'B' Championship in the Spring Thaw Tournament. The team all came together and played well, saving their best game to the last to end out the season.
Congratulations to the team and coaching staff for their hard work and dedication throughout the season, culminating in a championship at the end of the year.
Congratulations to all the Dunnville Minor Hockey Teams, the Coaches, Team Support Staff and the Executives for a great Hockey Season and hope to see you all in an arena soon!
