Mudcat Nation,
Our U13 team showed up in Glanbrook with one thing in mind, to take the B division cup.
Every player showed up focused. They started off the first period with a goal from Callum Gibson with another goal scored by Landon Keen right behind it. With a 2-0 lead they didn’t let up, but Cayuga had enough of our scoring, so they decided to turn up the pressure.
Second period Cayuga scored shorthanded showing they were there to compete. The remainder of period 2 went without a goal but a lot of pushing, shoving starting up and nonstop pressure from both sides. Third period Landon Jenssen buried one in the net with Landon Keen scoring his second of the night shortly after.
Coach Erik said, "Every player put 100% into the game and it showed. In my opinion the moment of the game came from Landon Jenssen who scored the third goal, after that goal Cayuga lost all the wind in their sails. After that Cayuga resorted to cross checking our players every chance they got, we only had one penalty all game and that came from Liam Prashaw who only got it for standing up for our players, it was one of those penalties you can be proud of, protecting those who won’t protect themselves is something that is instinctive.
3 out of our 4 goals came from our defense proving that all positions are equally important in a game and can be so important. Thank you Mudcats for an exciting game and fantastic season."
Congrats to the U13B HLL Champion Players, Coach Erik PRASHAW and staff on a great season.
